Marie Yuran

GLRS Coordinator

I have been working in the education field since graduating from Brenau University in 1996. I began my career as a special education teacher with the Jackson County School System. I also served as a special education teacher and teacher leader in Missoula, Montana and Montgomery County, Maryland prior to returning to Georgia in 2011. In 2011, I continued my educational journey as the special education coordinator at Clarke Central High School (CCHS). During my seven year tenure at CCHS I served as the school’s Associate Principal and Principal. During my career, I have served as an advocate for students with disabilities and have worked to close the achievement gap related to student performance and graduation rate. At West Georgia RESA, I serve as the GLRS Coordinator, where I and the GLRS staff provide professional learning and other resources to educators and families of students with disabilities.
